LAWTON OF LAWTON PART I

In 1873, William John Percy Lawton received a gift for his 24th birthday from his dear friend Dr. Frank Renaud, M.D. This gift has become known in Lawton genealogy circles as the "Renaud Papers". The Renaud Papers are probably the most complete descriptive lineage of the Lawton Manorial line ever compiled. It was Renaud's research that was used in part to assemble the LAWTON OF LAWTON  portion of genealogist George Ormerod's famous work The History of the County Palatine and City of Chester (Second Edition, 1882), which is presented in Part II of this section. William J. P. Lawton was a direct descendant of Adam de Lauton (19th Great-Grandson).

A transcript of the Renaud Papers was provided by Stephen Thomas Lawton of the Lawton Ledger.  This transcript is available for viewing below in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, you may download it for free by following the link on the left.
